• No need to travel! Jewtor brings the learning to you, on your schedule.
• Flexible scheduling: Lessons tailored to your convenience. Learn at your pace, in individual online tutoring.

Our tutors

• Bettina Schwarzman, our CEO, leads a team of experienced tutors – cantors, rabbis, Jewish educators – who love teaching and know their stuff.
• Some of our tutors are able to travel to officiate at Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, and we also work with rabbis who will do destination Bar and Bat Mitzvahs for you in the US, Israel, or pretty much anywhere.

Personalized Learning

• One-on-one sessions: At Jewtor, we don’t do group classes. These days, people are super-busy, and so we focus on your individual learning needs. You don’t have to keep up with other students, and you don’t get slowed down by other students. We work together at your pace, at a time that works for you.
• We tailor your learning to what you need. For Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, we work with your Rabbi (if you have one) to make the learning just what your child needs for their big day. For adults, we tailor your program to focus on what you want to learn.
• Flexible lessons: Choose from half-hour, hour-long, or extended sessions, once a week or more – whatever works for you.

What Can You Learn?

• Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons. Our Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutors are experts in working with kids to get them ready for their special day.
• Adult Jewish learning, for adults who want to learn more than they got as kids in Hebrew school.
• Jewish values and customs.
• Hebrew: Modern Hebrew as spoken in Israel or Biblical Hebrew and the Hebrew of the Siddur (Prayerbook).
• Torah and Haftarah chanting: especially for Bar and Bat Mitzvah, but also for adults.
• Synagogue skills: how to read, lead, and chant the prayers.
• Writing and delivering a Dvar Torah (a “word of Torah”, a short sermon).
• Other Jewish learning: we love creating personal programs for whatever you’d like to learn – Jewish history, holidays, Israel, and more.
