Your private Jewish tutor
I’m Bettina Schwarzman, the Jewish tutor behind Jewtor. I made aliyah, lived in Israel for over a decade, and graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with degrees in Education and History. I regularly read Torah, chant megillot, and lead services in my synagogue, where I also serve as High Holiday cantor. The approach we use at Jewtor resonates with people who are busy and want a tutor who meets them, virtually, where they are in their learning.
How online Jewish tutoring works
We will give you private tutoring lessons over the Internet, with a copy of the same materials that you have in front of you (textbook, or prayer book, or Biblical materials.) Lessons can be half an hour, an hour, or more. We can make personalized recordings for you to practice learning trope or prayers. We’re very flexible with timing, and available as often as you’d like, Sunday to Friday. We specialize in teaching kids for bar/bat mitzvah.

We teach adults as well as children. And most of all, we try to be gentle and friendly, and not at all intimidating. (This is the part that both the kids and the grownups really appreciate!)
